The Miami Beach City Commission will vote on approving artist Christina Petterson to create a $15,000 mural honoring environmental activist Marjory Stoneman Douglas at her namesake park in South Beach. The concrete vinyl mural would measure approximately 16 feet wide by 6 feet tall and depict Douglas "relaxing in the habitat she spent her life protecting" on the west-facing wall of the park's restroom facility.
