The Miami Beach City Commission will consider referring Florida's Advanced Air Mobility business plan to committee for review during its Dec. 17 meeting. Commissioner Laura Dominguez is sponsoring the referral to the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee to examine how emerging aerial transportation technologies could impact the city.

The proposal asks city administration to analyze Florida's developing Intercity Aerial Highway Network and evaluate how electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft might enhance regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion. The review would examine regulatory developments, infrastructure needs, potential vertiport locations and public-private partnership opportunities.

Dominguez requests the administration assess how Miami Beach can position itself within Florida's broader aerial highway network, including compatibility with existing transportation systems, potential economic and tourism benefits, and steps the city should take for future participation in advanced aviation services.
